The first of our new "Fibre Finder" range!
Our new range of 'Fibre Finder' themed colour mixes are a great way to begin to explore the many types of fibre we stock here at Tregaver Fibre.
This pack contains 10g of our pastel blue carded wool (also featured in our "Spirit of Spring" box), 5g of Dark Blue Devon and Cornwall Longwool Lamb fibre, and 5g of Light Ocean Splash Perendale lamb's wool.
About our Fibres:
Our carded wool has been professionally carded by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall.
It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock.
Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt.
It's then been hand dyed by myself in a pastel blue mix of tones.
To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts.
Our Perendale Lamb wool is unseparated (you can see this in the photos), and to get the best results, find the tip of the lock and gently tug it to separate it from the batch. You may end up with a very small amount of left over fibre (see photo) which can then be used in your makes in a different way.
Our Devon and Cornwall longwool lamb fibre has been separated, but you may prefer to use the above method to pull each individual lock from the batch, to ensure minimal left over fibre.
